Sony’s PlayStation E3 conference has come to a close. Their presentation was a bit different than previous years. The show opened in a tent which leads into the first announcement of the night. There were some surprises along with in-depth looks at the upcoming first-party slate Sony has to offer. For those that might have missed the conference or are looking to see what was announced, here is a full recap.
The Last of Us: Part II
The show opened off with a bang, offering gamers an in-depth look at the upcoming game, The Last of Us: Part II. Naughty Dog offered up a trailer showcasing a bit of gameplay. Ellie is back and deadlier than ever. It was also revealed that the tent which the E3 experience took place, was modeled after the trailer. Take a look.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
Sony’s conference then took a 15-minute intermission. This allowed for members of the press to travel to where the rest of the conference was to take place. However, gamers were shown a new trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. The trailer showed that four maps from previous Black Ops game will receive a remaster. Black Ops 1’s Jungle, Summit and Firing Range, along with Black Ops 2’s Slums are set to be pre-order bonuses. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is also available for free to all PlayStation Plus members tonight.
Destiny 2
Gamers were treated to a new trailer for Bungie’s upcoming Destiny 2 expansion, Forsaken.
Ghost of Tsushima
Sucker Punch’s upcoming samurai game, Ghost of Tsushima was then delved into. A long gameplay sequence was shown off that is sure to keep gamers satisfied. The video displayed gorgeous scenery, along with combat sequences. Check out the trailer below.
Trover Saves the Universe
Rick and Morty creator Justin Roiland showed off his latest game, Trover Saves the Universe. The game shares similar tones and styles with Roiland’s hit comedy and looks to be a platformer.
Control
One surprise from the conference came from Remedy Entertainment. Their latest secret project P7 now has a name. The third-person action-adventure game, Control, was given a new trailer and a 2019 release date.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
The next surprise was a full trailer for Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil 2 Remake. Leon Kennedy returns to action in this video. The game looks stellar with its graphics and gameplay. The release date took gamers by shock. It will hit store shelves on January 25, 2019.
Kingdom Hearts III
Square Enix displayed a brand new trailer for their upcoming Kingdom Hearts III. The biggest piece shown in the trailer is that Pirates of the Caribbean is getting its own world. This will feature Captain Jack Sparrow and boat battles. There will also be a brand new limited edition PlayStation 4 Pro console to coincide with this release.
Death Stranding
Hideo Kojima’s upcoming brainchild received a lengthy trailer showing off the game’s world and a bit of story. Death Stranding looks to be a stealth game that has a lot of information to be explored. No release date or specific plot points were announced.
Nioh 2
Koei Tecmo appeared on stage to announce Nioh 2. No release date was given for the action game, but gamers were given a nice trailer.
Spider-Man
The presentation took its final lap with Insomniac’s upcoming Spider-Man. The game still looks fantastic and showed off a prison level. The Sinister Six made an appearance as the game’s main villains. This PlayStation 4 exclusive will release on September 7.
Sony showed that their first-party lineup is still stronger than ever. The platform has already seen major exclusive releases this year with God of War and Detroit: Become Human. It was a good presentation that left gamers salivating for more.
