Recently, Nintendo UK released a surprise Indie Showcase to coincide with Gamescom 2018. Some noteworthy titles can be seen below:
- Everspace Stellar Edition – December 2018
- Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom – November 6, 2018
- Windjammers 2 – 2019
- Terraria – 2019
- Prison Architect – Available Now
Along with the above-mentioned games, A Hat in Time and Grandia I & II HD were announced. Many indie developers have been able to find a home with Nintendo’s hybrid system. Titles such as Steamworld Dig 2 and Super Meat Boy sold more on the Switch than on other platforms, according to their respective developers.
Nintendo has stated that they hope to bring more indies over on a consistent basis. During a Q&A session with investors, Senior Executive Officer Susumu Tanaka stated the following:
“In the future, we are looking to release around 20 to 30 indie games on Nintendo Switch per week, and we definitely expect to see some great games among them.”
