Activision just announced that the Spyro Reignited Trilogy has been delayed. This pushes the game back from its previous September 21 launch day to November 13. Co-Studio Head of Toys for Bob, Paul Yan, issued the following statement on the Activision Community Forums:
“Everyone here at Toys for Bob is so proud to be reigniting the original Spyro trilogy after all these years. We’re deeply committed to getting these games right, so we’ve decided to move the release date of Spyro Reignited Trilogy to November 13, 2018. I really hoped that you would be rescuing dragons and scorching Rhynocs sooner, but the Trilogy needs more love and care. In November when you’re exploring the Dragon Realms, Avalar and the Forgotten Worlds, we know you’ll agree the extra time was worth the wait.”
The trilogy recently came under fire for requiring an online download for two out of the three games. It is currently unknown whether this issue will be addressed for the new release date.
Toys for Bob’s Spyro Reignited Trilogy is set to launch on November 13 for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. There is currently no official word on a PC or Nintendo Switch release. It may come to these systems, as they were listed on the game’s official website but was later removed.
