Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive’s World War Z has just sold 2 million units. These companies stated that the sales are across the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. In its first week alone, a million copies had been sold. After releasing last month, the cooperative shooter has been touted as the next Left 4 Dead experience. The pair has also recently released a trailer showing off excerpts from reviews. Take a look below:
World War Z‘s success has made Paramount Pictures happy with Josh Austin, Senior Vice-President of Worldwide Licensing and Interactive, saying the following:
“World War Z has fast become one of our most successful interactive games to date. It’s a testament to both the incredible co-op action experience that Saber Interactive and Focus Home Interactive have crafted, as well as the strong appeal of our hit franchise with fans across the globe”
Its big hit has allowed the developers to create a roadmap for free updates. Season One is set to bring a variety of things from May to July. May will include an all-new mission set in Tokyo that features a new Zombie type, which can revive fallen zombies if not handled properly. June adds a more challenging difficulty setting, bonus cosmetics, and a bit more to be announced. Finally, July is planned to introduce a new Weekly Challenge mode, along with other cosmetics and other goodies. On top of all of this, private lobbies, a wave-based survival mode, FOV customizability, and the ability to switch classes during PvPvZ matches.
Saber Interactive’s World War Z is available now on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for $39.99.
