The Game Awards have begun, and they started with an announcement of a game version of World War Z, which is based on the film series of the same name. There wasn’t much shown but a brief trailer, but it seems to be a shooter. It’s not known if it’s a first-person shooter or not. While not a very exciting announcement, it seems like it would be a fun title to play, as shooting zombies is always satisfying. This is apparent by playing the Dead Rising series as well as The Last of Us.

World War Z Announced For Consoles and Steam

Zombie Apocalypse games have become rather boring, and World War Z wasn’t exactly a great film starring Brad Pitt. It was released in 2013 and quite honestly, I can’t see a game based off of a so-so film doing all that well. It’s simply a cash in on the Zombie apocalypse genre. Games like The Last of Us were unique and told a masterful story, as did Telltale’s The Walking Dead. There’s no indication that World War Z will be any better than the film it’s based off of. Of course, we’ll have to see, as it’s too soon to judge for sure.

The game will be released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam.
