An online retailer may have accidentally leaked an upcoming release of Telltale’s The Walking Dead series on the Nintendo Switch. European retailer MediaMarkt recently created a listing for seasons one and two.
There is no confirmation regarding this and is currently speculation. However, The Walking Dead: The Final Season is planned to release on the Switch later this year. It would not be much of a shock if this turned out to be true.
Telltale has planned to conclude Clementine’s storyline. The series initially released in 2012 to rave reviews including multiple Game of the Year Awards. Critics heralded its storytelling along with its point-and-click gameplay. The sequel, released in 2013, although not as highly received as its predecessor, was positively received. A New Frontier was then made for next-gen systems as the next installment for the franchise. This was the least received in the series due to its length and how it handled season two’s endings.
The final season is set to fix many of the wrongs found in A New Frontier, especially with placing Clementine as the main player-controlled character. The first episode is planned to release on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mobile on August 14. Gamers that pre-order the game will receive all four episodes along with The Walking Dead Collection as a bonus.
