The first legitimate E3 2018 leak has broken, although it should still be regarded as a rumor until proven otherwise. Walmart has posted listings of as-of-yet unannounced games available for pre-order. The list of games was first discovered by Wario64 on Twitter. Many of the games are unannounced sequels, some of which many expected were in development.

It was previously reported that Forza Horizon 4 was in development, so, it is very interesting that it lists Forza Horizons 5, with an S. What significance could this have? There is no Halo here, but Gears of War 5 is now Microsoft’s star franchise. Gears 4 is one of the best games on the Xbox One, as is Forza Horizon 3, and Gears of War 4 left off on a huge cliffhanger. If this is true, which it most likely is, Microsoft will have two of their strongest IPs at E3 2018. And there’s much more to come.
With Gears of War 5, Microsoft could win E3, especially if it’s playable. The saga has become the face of Microsoft and is one of the strongest franchises in the gaming industry. Forza Horizon is both the face of racing and sports games, winning the Best Racing/Sports Game at The 2016 Game Awards. Phil Spencer also wants to include Japanese developers in his presentation at E3 2018.
With the Xbox One X halfway through its inaugural year, Microsoft is sure to announce their future plans for the most powerful gaming system in existence. It’s an exciting time to be a gamer.
The third-party games are also impressive, as Assasin’s Creed Origins is Ubisoft’s strongest entry in the franchise yet and the next game will be just as impressive. Ubisoft is an elite developer. Borderlands 3 is a game everyone wants.
Someone at Walmart Canada really screwed up. While it technically could have been guesswork by an employee, this is incredibly unlikely. In all likelihood, someone probably pushed the wrong button in anticipation of E3, which is only a little over a month away.
Gears of War 5 will steal the show if this leak is legitimate.
