Nintendo of America has announced the release date for DOOM on the Nintendo Switch on their official Twitter account. It will release on November 10, one week before Skyrim releases. This gives Nintendo two huge titles coming out in November, both from Bethesda. It also should be noted that Nintendo has nothing themselves coming out for the Switch in November, so Bethesda won’t be overshadowed by Nintendo first-party titles when they release.

DOOM was one of the most surprising announcements from the Nintendo Direct on September 13. Bethesda isn’t just releasing Skyrim on the Switch, or even just DOOM, but are releasing Wolfenstein II for Nintendo’s hit system as well early next year. Skyrim is releasing on the Switch November 17. DOOM doesn’t initially look like a game that would fit on a Nintendo system, but after reports that Nintendo is trying to bring more mature titles to the Switch, it makes a bit of sense. Bethesda seems eager to work with Nintendo on their new console, as is Ubisoft, and the two are bringing quality games to the system. Releasing three games for a new Nintendo console may seem like a gamble after the sales of the Wii U, but the Switch is not only selling much better but has superior marketing and is a system that has something for everyone. It seems like a win-win situation for Nintendo and Bethesda.
