Rockstar Games has announced the release date for the much-anticipated sequel to their smash hit Red Dead Redemption. Red Dead Redemption 2 will release for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on October 26. In a statement, Rockstar apologizes for the delay, but needed the extra time to polish the game and make it the best it could possibly be. This is common practice in the gaming industry and it’s more important to get the game right than to release an incomplete game. Their statement in full is below. “We are excited to announce that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on October 26th 2018. We apologize to everyone disappointed by this delay. While we had hoped to have the game out sooner, we require a little extra time for polish. We sincerely thank you for your patience and hope that when you get to play the game, you will agree the wait will have been worth it. In the meantime, please check out these screenshots from the game. We look forward to sharing a lot more information with you in the coming weeks. With thanks, Rockstar Games“ With this news, Red Dead Redemption 2 will come out right in time for the holiday 2018 season and will be prime to be a Game of the Year contender. More information about the title will be revealed in the coming weeks.
