In Ubisoft’s recent financial conference call, CEO Yves Guillemot briefly talked about how Ubisoft is excited for the NX and how he believes it will change the industry.

“On the NX, what we have seen is really great, so we think having a new machine coming is going to help the industry to continue to grow and to take lots more casual players back in the industry.”

The Nintendo NX will be launching in March of 2017, and looks far more promising than the Wii U did at launch. Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is rumored to launch in March 2017 as well, which would be a huge incentive to buy the new system. If we all remember back to 2007 when the Wii first launched, Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess launched with the system. This helped increase the original sales exponentially and initially garnered a 75% attach rate with the Wii system. If this is the case with the Nintendo NX, sales could be explosive and we could be looking at another Wii situation, as Ubisoft is saying it will appeal to casual players as well and bring them back to gaming.

It’s no wonder why Ubisoft is excited for the NX.
