The size of Resident Evil Village has been alluded to, and it’s rather large. In comparison to Resident Evil VII, it’s apparently “much larger” than its predecessor. This is a good thing, as Resident Evil VII  was great and all, but it was rather short and not large in scale. That’s okay though because bigger does not always mean better, right? This bit of information comes way of the producer of the game, Peter Fabiano. He confirmed this to Official PlayStation Magazine UK exclusively for their March 2021 cover story. Load times will be “virtually eliminated” on the PlayStation 5 and the audio will be superb, coming to you from all directions. Resident Evil is a horror series, so the audio portion of it sounds incredibly promising and will deliver an immersive horror experience like no other. Dead Space challenged Resident Evil and surpassed its contemporary Resident Evil games, but that franchise faded to the point where it’s now dead. The Evil Within attempted to challenge Resident Evil, even spawning a sequel, The Evil Within 2, but that failed, even being directed by the creator of the Resident Evil games, Shinji Mikami.

Resident Evil Village comes out on May 7 for both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 and promises to be one of the finest entries in the series.
