Thanks to a recent job listing on Blizzard’s website, we have learned that a new Diablo game is in the works. The development team is looking for a Dungeon Artist to assist with the creation of the game. An excerpt of the listing is as follows:
“We Need You
The minions of Hell are growing stronger… We’re working on a new, unannounced Diablo project. Are you a skilled Dungeon Artist? Come work with us, and together we will build something exceptional.”
By bringing aboard a new Dungeon Artist, it would appear that this is set to be a new installment, possibly Diablo 4. The most recent game, Diablo 3, featured a few remade levels of the original.
Diablo 3 was released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PCs on May 15, 2012. The game received a vast amount of post-launch updates and continued support. In 2014, Blizzard released the expansion, Reaper of Souls. This contained a new character class and a fifth act. It was also repackaged for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
It is currently unknown when this game may be announced. The game may be teased during the upcoming E3 event. However, it seems more likely that the unannounced game may be revealed at this year’s Blizzcon. Blizzcon 2018 takes place in Anaheim, California on November 2-3. More information can be found here.
