Famitsu has come out with their weekly sales numbers for the week of February 1 to February 7 of this year. On the hardware side, numbers are down slightly, but Nintendo continues to dominate the charts. The Switch has sold roughly 90,000 units over that week, compared to a little over 110,000 units the previous week. Hardware sales seem to be down across the board, as the sales according to Famitsu through February 7 also see Sony seeing a significant drop as well. What this means, we don’t know, but here are the numbers for the last week along with the numbers from the week before, for comparison’s sake.
Switch – 64,917
Switch Lite – 23,568
PS5 – 13,142
PS4 – 3,212
New 2DS LL – 824
PS5 Digital Edition – 382
Xbox Series S – 208
Xbox Series X – 106
PS4 Pro – 17
On the software side, nine of to top 10-selling games in Japan for the first week in February are Nintendo Switch games. Momotaro Dentetsu: Showa, Heisei, Reiwa mo Teiban! continues to dominate, while Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Ring Fit Adventure, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe continue to hold steady at the top. Once games like Bravely Default II, Shin Megami Tensei V, and Breath of the Wild 2 come out (although there’s no official announcement on whether Zelda is coming out this year), it will be interesting to see how the charts respond.
