The Japanese Nintendo Switch eShop charts have been unveiled from 2/11 through 2/17. Super Mario 3D Word + Bowser’s Fury reigns supreme, with four of the top five games on the chart not Nintendo first-party games, which is a surprise. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe came in at number six with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate coming in at number eight, but as far as first-party Switch games on the eShop in the top 10, that’s it.

Five first-party Nintendo games of the top 20 are well over a year old, with Mario Kart 8 DeluxeSuper Smash Bros. UltimateBreath of the WildSplatoon 2, and Super Mario Party all charting. This is encouraging, as this is one of Nintendo’s key strategies moving forward: getting people to buy older Nintendo Switch games. It will be interesting to see how the chart evolves as Nintendo’s lineup begins to shape up as the year goes on, as Nintendo just announced their lineup for the first half of the year.
