Nintendo has announced Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch. The game will feature full motion controls as the original did with the Joy-Con controllers, and will be playable with traditional controls as well. Skyward Sword is a game that many have wanted to see in high-definition for quite some time, and now we’re finally getting it. In the original, the watercolor effect didn’t come across quite right, but this time, in full high definition, it’s finally made as it was originally envisioned. Zelda is Nintendo’s most storied franchise behind Mario and has always had top-class celebrations for its anniversaries.

In 2011, Nintendo released both Skyward Sword and a full-blown Zelda Symphony, Symphony of the Goddesses, to celebrate the incredible achievement. This year, for Zelda’s 35th anniversary, Nintendo is releasing Skyward Sword HD, potentially releasing previous Zelda titles in a collection, and potentially releasing Breath of the Wild 2Skyward Sword HD will release on July 16 of this year and will surely be a delight. Skyward Sword is one of our top Zelda games, behind Ocarina of Time, and has the best story of any Zelda game. This will give a new generation of gamers the ability to experience it. Nintendo is surely capitalizing on the success of Zelda and hopefully will continue to, as it is as of right now their premiere franchise.

Again, the game will release on July 16.
