Nintendo is going full-on marketing when it comes to Skyward Sword HD, and that includes the control scheme. Via social media, Nintendo seems to be reminding players time and time again that Skyward Sword HD’s controls will be superior to the Wii version and much more intuitive and smoother than the original. This is apparent by one of their latest Tweets. They not only specify that the Switch version will be superior to the Wii version, but show a short video of Link donning his sword. For a game that doesn’t come out until July, they sure are going all-in on the latest installment of the Zelda franchise.
Unleash your sword with the right Joy-Con and raise your shield with the left Joy-Con! In The Legend of #Zelda: #SkywardSwordHD the original controls have been recreated on #NintendoSwitch, and are smoother and more intuitive than the original version. pic.twitter.com/ouC5CajoSN

Skyward Sword originally came out for the Nintendo Wii in 2011, and was a celebration of the Zelda franchise’s 25th anniversary. Now, for the 35th anniversary, history is repeating itself, although Nintendo hasn’t been marketing as such. The game featured groundbreaking motion controls and while some had trouble with it, I was one of the ones who didn’t. In fact, I still play the game to this very day. It’s one of the best Zelda games and was our #2 Zelda game on our list ranking all of the mainline Zelda games. Given everything we know about Skyward Sword HD, it should not just be the definitive version of Skyward Sword, but catapult it towards one of the top Zelda games for those who have it ranked rather low, due to Skyward Sword HD’s improved controls.
