Rumors have persisted for quite a while, but it has been confirmed that Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom will be delayed. The release has been pushed back from January 2018 to March 23, 2018. This confirms what Best Buy was telling customers in November regarding the release date being pushed into March. The CEO of Level 5, the developer of the game, Akihiro Hino, revealed the delay on the game’s official German Facebook page. Here is a translation of what he had to say:

In an attempt to always bring new innovations to the players, we have introduced new modes of play, such as the assault and kingdom mode, in Ni no Kuni II In order to ensure that everything works perfectly and above all entertaining and the high quality standards of level 5 AND BANDAI NAMCO ENTERTAINMENT INC. We can only celebrate the release of Ni no Kuni ii on 23. March: Fate of a Kingdom. On behalf of the whole Level 5 team I thank you for your patience and further support.

While it is unfortunate that the game is getting delayed, the PlayStation 4 is packed with games in 2018. Three months is a small price to pay for some additional polish to make the game the best it can be, so Hino-san is making the correct choice here.

Ni No Kuni: Revenant Kingdom will be released on March 28 and is being developed by Level 5 and published by Bandai Namco.
