Microsoft’s E3 2019 press conference ended on a high note with the announcement of their next console. Project Scarlett is the newest iteration from Microsoft and is developed by the same team behind the Xbox One X, Elite Controller, and Backwards Compatibility. The system will include the following features:

  • Reduced Load Times
  • Custom Design Processor
  • 120 FPS, 8K Capability
  • 4x More Powerful than Xbox One X
  • Ray-Tracing
  • Cross-Platform Capability

Project Scarlett is set to launch next year for Holiday 2020. Alongside the console’s launch is the upcoming Halo: InfiniteThis move, according to Xbox Head, Phil Spencer, is an homage to the original Xbox’s launch where Halo: Combat Evolved was released. Halo: Infinite follows Master Chief after the events of Halo 5. A new trailer for the game was shown and featured the titular character viewing the destruction of Halo. Near the end, Master Chief enters a room hearing the voice of Cortana, signaling her potential return.

Xbox’s E3 2019 conference was loaded with a plethora of games spanning from indie games all the way up to first-party exclusives. Gears 5, Halo: Infinite, and Cyberpunk 2077 were among the highlights of the event, but there were still plenty of great announcements all around.
