Another announcement from Xbox’s E3 2019 press conference was a new trailer for CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The trailer gave off new story information, world-building, and an appearance from non-other than Keanu Reeves. Take a look below:
In the trailer, fans were shown, what appears to be, the intro of the game. The main character has just fled a high-stakes robbery and stole some important information that is highly sought after. Immediately after thinking they’re safe, they are double-crossed and are attacked. Left for dead in a junkyard, the player is met with Keanu Reeves and is tasked with fighting back.
Keanu Reeves entered the stage to thunderous applause as he greeted fans and gave off the game’s release date. Reeves, who plays the character Mr. Fusion, stated that Cyberpunk 2077 launches on April 16, 2020. CD Projekt Red’s latest has been in production since 2013 and is sure to be one of the most highly anticipated games of next year.
Immediately following the press conference, the game was made available for pre-order both physically and digitally. A standard edition and collector’s edition were both announced and feature a slew of goodies. The standard edition comes packed with digital copies of the game’s soundtrack, art booklet, sourcebook, wallpapers, and a physical map, postcards, compendium, and stickers. However, the collector’s edition includes all of the standard edition’s contents as well as metal pins, patches, hardcover art book, steel book, an annotated guide to the game’s city, and a 10-inch statue of the game’s protagonist.
