Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a fantastic compilation for the Nintendo Switch. One of the standout titles available in Super Mario 3D All-Stars is Mario Galaxy, in all its splendid HD glory. One thing Mario Galaxy has is motion controls, if you choose to use them. The most interesting part is the “point-and-click” portion of it, which is simple, yet at the same time, Mario Galaxy HD shows that Skyward Sword HD would work on the Switch. The motion controls are very precise and by the touch of the R button, the cursor automatically resets. There is one issue though, and that is that there is no motion plus. Now whether Nintendo would need to release a brand new set of motion plus JoyCons or simply have a firmware update to the JoyCons remains to be seen. Regardless, the potential is there. Mario Galaxy HD unequivocally shows this.

Skyward Sword HD Switch

Skyward Sword is one of the best Zelda games, though not the best, as Ocarina of Time takes that mantle. Many have been clamoring for an HD remake, believing it could improve the base game and surpass the Wii version. With the ability to quickly reposition the cursor to the center of the screen, this would be one improvement. Technology has also vastly improved since the Wii came out. There is no doubt that the JoyCons could handle a game like Skyward Sword. Some buttons would need to be shuffled around, but, it could easily work. Again, the only issue would be the motion plus, which is something Nintendo could easily work out. There is a huge Zelda audience who never played Skyward Sword, and given Zelda’s popularity after Breath of the Wild and Age of Calamity, it would be the perfect opportunity to release this splendid game for the series’ 35th anniversary, in addition to a 35th-anniversary collection.

Skyward Sword HD Switch

Despite some of the technical challenges, Mario Galaxy HD shows that Skyward Sword HD is possible on the Switch. The motion controls are very precise, and the “point-and-click” portion of the gameplay works perfectly. The R button instantly centers the cursor, much like the C button in the original Skyward Sword, but it’s much more precise and fast-acting. This HD version could even catapult the game into being one of the best Zelda games among the general populace, especially given its incredible story, mind-bending dungeons, and overall unforgettable experience. Because Skyward Sword is more than just a game. It’s an experience and one that will last a lifetime. The Wii version is fantastic, but to see the game in HD splendor and have the opportunity to play it with smoother controls would be a wonderful treat. The Legend of Zelda is Nintendo’s best franchise, and it deserves the best for its 35th anniversary. Skyward Sword HD would just be the icing on the cake with what Nintendo is sure to have in store for us.
