The Game of Thrones season eight premiere date has been revealed to be April 14, 2018 in an e-mail sent out by HBO to former HBO NOW subscribers with the hashtag #ForTheThrone.

“Game of Thrones Returns April 14
Winter descends on the North, and the Starks look to the past. Explore the eerie crypts of Winterfell in this new Season 8 teaser.

Prepare for the final season of Game of Thrones premiering April 14. Renew your subscription and relive every moment of Seasons 1-7.”

The e-mail also contained a clip of Arya, Sansa, and Jon in the crypts of Winterfell before presumably Ned, Lyanna, and Catelyn. Suddenly everything gets cold and the clip alludes to the fact that the dead have arrived in Winterfell. If you don’t want to be spoiled, do not watch the clip. If you don’t mind some light spoilers, watch it. This is the first true look we’ve had of the final season of Game of Thrones, and it’s the most anticipated finale since LOST. It promises to be an event of a lifetime, so don’t miss out! If you haven’t seen the show yet, binge it; you have plenty of time and you’ll be ready come the final season.

April 14 can’t come soon enough!
