Evangelion 3.0+1.0 has been delayed numerous times, even before COVID happened. It was originally supposed to be released in June, then January, and now is delayed indefinitely. There is some good news though. Although the listing is no longer up, according to Japan’s Film Classification and Rating Organization, Evangelion 3.0+1.0 has a run time listed of 154 minutes and will be given a G rating. While a G rating may seem tame, it should be noted that every other Evangelion film has been given a G rating. Thrice Upon a Time is the fourth film in the Rebuild of Evangelion, and god-willing it comes out this year, will come out nine years after its predecessor, Evangelion 3.0. This will be a 14-year journey, with the first Rebuild of Evangelion film coming out in 2007. The second film came out in 2009. Each film seemed to follow a 2-3 year release cycle, until the final installment. Anno has apologized profusely for the delay, but a delay might mean we may get the best entry in the series. Sitting at 154 minutes, which is about two-and-a-half-hours, is just the right amount of time to wrap up the tetralogy. While this listing has been pulled by Japan’s Film Classification and Rating Organization, it has credibility, and hopefully means that the film will be released sometime in the near future.
