EA has finally revealed the title for their upcoming shooter to be Battlefield V. This squashes rumors about a potential Battlefield Bad Company 3. Only the title has been unveiled so far. A full announcement will be showcased on May 23 at 1 PM PST/4 PM EST.

Here’s a quote from EA’s press release:

“The next chapter of EA DICE’s groundbreaking all-out war saga is Battlefield V.

Tune in on May 23 for a first look into how your epic journey with Battlefield V will be. On the Battlefield V Live Reveal, the team developing the game will share their vision.”

There are some tidbits about Battlefield V that are currently known. A single-player campaign will still be implemented into this game. Not only this but a battle royale mode is set to be included. This news came when it was said that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 may do away with a solo story mode for the popular battle royale mode.

Other than this, not much else is known. It will be interesting to see what time period the game will take place in. Battlefield 3 took place in 2014 while the fourth installment was set six years directly after the events of the third game. There is the chance that Battlefield V may follow in these footsteps or it can go in another direction.

The live reveal on May 23 will be hosted by Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
