Nintendo has just announced the release date for the Switch port of Apex Legends. The game launches on March 9 for players to download. Immediately, users are able to jump in to enjoy the Season 8: Mayhem. This season contains new cosmetics and bonuses that players can enjoy and even carry over to subsequent seasons after being earned.

In addition to this news, the company revealed that those who purchase the Season 8 Battle Pass can earn more rewards. The $10 in-game purchase allows for double XP from launch day through March 23. It will also unlock the first 30 levels immediately, as well as all XP associated with it.
Apex Legends originally launched in February of 2019 with no advertising by the developer, Respawn Entertainment. This announcement took the gaming world by storm as it saw a huge spike in downloads and popularity on the first day of launch. Despite having zero build-up, the game went on to be incredibly successful and continues to see immense popularity. As of 2019, the game has registered over 70 million users and is set to be a billion dollar franchise for publisher EA.
The free-to-play Battle Royale title is available for download on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and soon, Nintendo Switch.
