Nintendo has given us a better look at the new Skyward Sword HD Joy-Cons releasing with the game for the Switch on July 16, and they are gorgeous. Unfortunately, unless they are doing pre-orders in waves (which they probably are), pre-orders are all sold out and scalpers have gotten their greedy hands on them. Hopefully, they’ll be more readily available at retail stores. That’s beside the point though. Skyward Sword has a history of a special controller, as the original came with a gold Zelda-themed WiiMote which included Motion+ built into it. It’s still beautiful today, and these are just as nice, if not better. The left Joy-Con is modeled after the Hylian Shield, while the right Joy-Con is meant to represent the Master Sword. Considering the game, this is very apt. Here are some pictures up close and personal.

These Joy-Cons are a must-have for any Zelda fan, even if you decide not to buy Skyward Sword HD. They are the best customized Joy-Cons Nintendo has made, and it’s incredibly special that they are for Skyward Sword HD. The game, and the Joy-Cons, release later this summer on July 16, so make sure not to miss out on either, especially if you’ve never played Skyward Sword before!
