The Famitsu most-wanted games list has come out for March 14, this week focusing on games whose votes were cast between February 25 and March 3. The top 10 continues to be dominated by Nintendo, with seven of the top 10 games going to the storied company and their hit-console, the Nintendo SwitchMonster Hunter Rise reigns supreme, with Final Fantasy XVI, Tales of Arise, and Breath of the Wild 2 quickly following. The rest of the Nintendo Switch games are Shin Megami Tensei V; Bayonetta 3; Rune Factory 5; New Pokemon Snap; and Ushiro. The Switch holds 14 of the top 30 spots which is a fairly even distribution, with newcomer Skyward Sword HD debuting on the list at 26. One would have thought that a few new Nintendo titles, such as Splatoon 3, would have made a splash on the list, but this, unfortunately, did not happen. Next week’s list will incorporate the latest Pokemon announcements, and if history has taught us anything, it’s that Pokemon will catapult itself to the top. That being said, Nintendo has only announced a portion of their titles coming out this year. It will be interesting to see how the future most-watnted games list shapes up as Nintendo comes out with even more stellar announcements, and whether these can catch the eyes of Japanese gamers.
