Skyward Sword HD was announced yesterday during Nintendo’s latest Direct, much to the delight of Zelda fans across the globe. It had been rumored for some time, but we finally have confirmation of Skyward Sword HD for the Nintendo Switch. Right after the Direct, pre-orders went live on the Nintendo eShop. There was one curious aspect that was a part of the description that Nintendo failed to mention: Skyward Sword HD will have amiibo support, at least according to the listing. The listing could be wrong, but it’s straight from the mouths of Nintendo. The likelihood of it being wrong is almost zero. That means that Skyward Sword HD will have amiibo support, and they may re-release the Skyward Sword amiibo which was so hard to find from years ago. The only thing I wish is that Joy-Cons could read amiibo, as I will be using the motion controls and the Skyward Sword Joy-Cons to play the game. Regardless, amiibo support is a good thing. There are probably a lot of things Nintendo added to the game that they weren’t quite yet ready to share, so we need to stay tuned to see what else they have up their sleeves in regards to Skyward Sword HD.
