The Japanese publication Famitsu has released brand new review scores for the week of January 20, including some key Nintendo Switch games. In fact, all of the games that were reviewed are going to be available on the Switch, though only one is an exclusive to the system. The popular anime, re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World has received a much-anticipated video game adaptation from Spike Chunsoft and is easily our most anticipated game that Famitsu reviewed this month. The title is Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World: The Prophecy of the Throne, which takes place during the events of the first season and includes both new and old characters. The other games reviewed were Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny, another highly anticipated RPG for both the Switch and the PlayStation 4 (yes, that system is still alive), Buddy Mission: BOND, and Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark. Here are the scores as follows.

  • Buddy Mission: BOND (Switch) – 9/8/8/9
  • Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny (PS4, Switch) – 9/8/8/8
  • Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark (PS4, Switch) – 8/8/8/7
  • Re:ZERO – Starting Life in Another World: The Prophecy of the Throne (PS4, Switch) – 8/8/8/8

Each game scored fairly well in their own right. Re:ZERO scored a combined 32/40, Disgaea 6 scored a 33/40, Buddy Mission scored a 34/40, and Fell Seal scored a 31/40. It’s unpredictable how these games will fair in North America, as Japan and the West have vastly different tastes in games, but things continue to look good for the Nintendo Switch, even with these lesser-known games.
