Today’s planned Nintendo Direct has just been delayed according to the company’s Twitter. A recent earthquake has struck Hokkaido, Japan forcing the postponement. A new date is planned and will be announced at a later time.
“Due to the powerful earthquake in Hokkaido, Japan, we have decided to delay this week’s planned Nintendo Direct. We will provide a new time and date in the near future. Thank you for your understanding.”
Nintendo’s next direct was set to look at upcoming titles coming to both the Switch and 3DS this fall. Former president of Nintendo, Tatsumi Kimishima had stated that the full lineup was yet to be revealed despite what was shown at E3. A Super Mario Bros U port and Star Fox Racing have been rumored and may be revealed.
Currently, the company has a slew of games planned to release in the coming months. Luigi’s Mansion 3D, Super Mario Party, and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu/Eevee are just to name a few. The upcoming Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also received a focused Direct recently. In it, series creator, Masahiro Sakurai, showed off a variety of new features along with character reveals for Chrom, Dark Samus, Simon Belmont, and King K Rool. More information regarding the above titles has also yet to have been revealed.
