The highly anticipated Blackout mode has recently seen teases from both Activision and Treyarch. Thanks to charlieINTEL, the full map has been unveiled for the public and it can be viewed below.
Many notable locations stand out such as Nuketown Island, Array, and Firing Range. Some of these would appear to be maps from previous entries in the Black Ops line of Call of Duty titles. It is currently unknown how large these sections will be and if they truly are former areas.
Blackout is the newest mode to enter the Call of Duty franchise. Thanks to the growing popularity of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, battle royale has been introduced for fans of the franchise. Activision announced the mode back in May earlier this year.
Treyarch recently confirmed that “in its current state,” 80 players are to make up each match. In addition to this, vehicles can be used to get around. For air, a helicopter, for sea, a Zodiac inflatable boat, and for land, a cargo truck or ATV. One last piece of information revealed was the addition of zombies. The undead entity is planned to make an appearance in the upcoming battle royale mode. It is currently unknown to what extent they will be used.
A beta for Blackout begins September 10 for PlayStation 4 users with a later date planned for Xbox One and PC.
