Details have finally emerged regarding Nintendo Switch Online’s upcoming paid online subscription. This will allow gamers to play games like Splatoon 2 and Mario Kart 8 online for a fee. However, this is not all that will be included. Nintendo will be including 20 NES games that are going to have online features, though they can be played offline as well.

With online play added to every classic game, you can compete (or cooperate) online with friends, share your screen, or pass the controller, depending on the game. With the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, you can also voice chat during your play sessions.

The current list of games slated for release are as follows:

  • Soccer
  • Balloon Fight
  • Tennis
  • Ice Climber
  • Donkey Kong
  • Dr. Mario
  • Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros.
  • Super Mario Bros. 3
  • The Legend of Zelda

There will be 10 more launch games announced at a later date.

Cloud saves will also finally be implemented. Many fans had been hoping that this feature would be added, though it is only included in the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service. Along with Nintendo’s normal pricing plan, there is to be a Family Membership Plan. This will cost $34.99 a year, but it includes eight memberships. That’s right, up to eight account holders can use the service even if they are using different systems. Users of this may potentially only pay $4.38 a year with seven friends. It is currently unknown if there will be any restrictions on this.

The Nintendo Switch Online subscription service will begin in September.
