It’s that time of week again: Famitsu has released their Japanese sales numbers from January 25 through January 31 for both hardware and software. Hardware sales have held steady, with the PlayStation 5 seeing a slight dip in sales numbers. The Nintendo Switch still dominates sales, selling a total of roughly 114,000 units. The PlayStation 5 sold roughly 26,000 units. On the software side, nine of the top 10 top-selling games of last week were for Nintendo’s hit console. The only exception was the PlayStation 4 version of Disgaea 6, which sold about 8,000 copies less than the Switch version. Once again, four of the top 10-selling games in Japan are Nintendo Switch games which have been out for over a year. Splatoon 2, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Ring Fit Adventure all made the list, along with Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Here are the sales numbers in full.
