Today at CinemaCon, Warner Brothers showed the trailer for The Matrix 4, and it seemingly confirms the plot leak from a month ago. It also confirms the previously leaked title of the film from months ago, dubbed Matrix Resurrections. One thing to point out is that it’s not Resurrection — it’s ResurrectionS. As in plural. This is sure to be important and holds several meanings. While we will not spoil the plot of the film here, or the ending, which has leaked, we will share what was shown in the trailer. If you would like to spoil yourself rotten you can watch the full video here by WorldOfGeekdom.

The trailer opens up with Neo visiting his therapist, played by Neil Patrick Harris. He asks him if he’s crazy, and Harris’ character states “we don’t use that word here.” Neo, like in the first film, feels that something is wrong with the world. He’s questioning his sanity and reality. Neo and Trinity meet at a coffee bar, and Trinity asks Neo if they’d met before. It seems the two don’t have any memories of their previous lives. A younger Morpheus is featured as well in the trailer, played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and tells Neo “it’s time to fly” and hands him a red pill. The trailer then features a number of action scenes before closing out.

matrix 4 plot leak

This confirms everything that has been leaked from Matrix Resurrections, which was leaked by someone who saw a test screening of the film. The Matrix 4 leak is unfortunate, but from all indications, it appears that it will not disappoint. The plot is incredibly engaging and when Keanu Reeves said that it was a love story at its core, he was not wrong. Neo may even play the role of Morpheus in this film after he wakes up, trying to wake Trinity as well.

Matrix Resurrections releases on December 22 and will be simultaneously available on HBO Max as well. The film cannot come soon enough!
