Skyward Sword is a fantastic game. It just so happens that it’s the perfect Zelda game to receive an HD remaster. Say what you want about The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD, which will probably be ported to the Nintendo Switch anyway. Skyward Sword HD is long overdue. The game isn’t perfect, but with the JoyCons, the motion controls will be more precise than ever before and the fact that they have implemented button controls will satisfy fans who had problems with the initial motion controls and makes the game more accessible for those who have shoulder problems. This game is Miyamoto’s vision, finally. It will finally, both graphically and gameplay-wise, fulfill the game’s full potential as it was always meant to be seen.

The biggest improvement in the game, which has gone overlooked, is the water coloring effect. This didn’t quite come across quite well in the Wii version. The Wii version pushed the Wii to the absolute max processing-wise and graphically, and didn’t fully take advantage of the beautiful scenery. The Switch version will. This is what I’m most excited for. Graphically, the game will finally live up to its full potential. This more than warrants an HD remake, more so than any other Zelda game.

Sure, there are other Zelda games that are deserving. Ocarina of Time is one of them. That received a 3DS remake roughly 10 years ago, but, that system is not being manufactured anymore. Given the rumored Zelda 30th Anniversary Collection, we may just get it. The Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD deserve to be ported to. That’s beside the point though. Skyward Sword HD deserves this the most, and, there was even talk several years ago that the former three would be packed together as a collection while Skyward Sword HD would be full-price.

Skyward Sword is the first story in the Zelda franchise. It’s only fitting that it receives an HD remaster considering Breath of the Wild is the last in the timeline. It also has the best story. It also has some of the best dungeons in the series, the best bosses, and some of the best characters, such as Ghirahim. It will give new Zelda fans to experience traditional Zelda for the first time, which may change their perception of the series. This is a brilliant marketing move by Nintendo, although rather late, to allow new Zelda fans to experience older Zelda titles for the first time. It’s much overdue. They need to take advantage of the success of Breath of the Wild, and Skyward Sword is the perfect game to capitalize on its success. Yes, there are other games that could do this such as OcarinaA Link to the PastTwilight Princess, etc., but Skyward Sword is a head above the rest. We didn’t rank it our number two Zelda game in the greatest Zelda games of all-time afterall. It’s a thrilling adventure and playing the game in high definition will only enhance the experience.

Skyward Sword Perfect Zelda

Skyward Sword HD is the perfect Zelda game to receive a remaster. It’s charming, it’s one of the best Zelda games to date, and the ability to play it in high definition rather in standard definition on the Wii or Wii U will catapult it to new heights. With memorable characters such as Fletch, Ghirahim, Gondo, and more, the game is full of rewarding sidequests that put Breath of the Wild to shame. The game is not only one of the best Zelda games, but one of the best games of all-time. Why not get an HD remaster? Considering so many games got remasters on other consoles in a mere matter of months or a year after their initial release, there’s no reason why Skyward Sword doesn’t deserve the same treatment. So many other Zelda games have already received remasters or remakes. It’s finally Skyward Sword’s turn, and the game looks fabulous based on everything we’ve seen. It deserves an HD remake/remaster more than any other Zelda game, take it to the bank. There are many who think the Oracle games deserve a remake, the original ZeldaA Link to the Past, et.al, but Skyward Sword has proven itself time and time again. It deserves this more than any other Zelda game and anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.
