Grezzo has recently posted a job recruitment advertisement that they are hiring for a brand-new game. In fact, it alludes to the fact that Grezzo is making a Zelda game. While I’m not going to bore you with over the top specifics, they are looking for a programmer, as well as an effects designer and a UI designer for a game that will be “medieval” and “stylish.” With regards to the programmer, the game will use Unity, VisualStudio, git, redmine, and jenkins. Grezzo is looking for someone “with experience in Unity with C#, someone who likes games, and can great things with the player mindset.” Their role will be more than a simple programmer, as they will be involved with the planning team. From the other job listings, it is apparent that this will not be a photorealistic game.
Now if we analyze this a bit, Grezzo has been involved in every single Zelda game on the 3DS. A Link Between Worlds, TriForce Heroes, Ocarina of Time 3D, Majora’s Mask 3D – it goes on and on. They even had a key role in Nintendo’s most recent true-Zelda game on the Switch, Link’s Awakening.
A game that takes place in a medieval setting, isn’t photorealistic, and is stylish? This sounds like the next 2D Zelda game that Nintendo has been alluding to or one of the much-rumored remasters/remakes we’ve been hearing about. Or it could be Grezzo going off and doing something for themselves. With it being Zelda’s 35th Anniversary and all, the likelihood of that isn’t so high. Maybe a remake of A Link to the Past?
Hopefully, it’s a brand-new Zelda experience for the Switch in 2D, or maybe they are working on the much-rumored Skyward Sword remake. That would make fans go ecstatic, and would match with the “stylish” aspect of the game. Regardless of what it is, Grezzo and Nintendo have something up their sleeves.
