Nintendo formally announced their E3 2019 schedule this past Thursday on Twitter, giving us some insight on what to expect in June. Nintendo confirmed their highly anticipated E3 Nintendo Direct will be taking place on June 11 at 9 a.m. PT/12 p.m.
The image above was used for the announcement, showing a sneak peak at what to expect beyond just the simple Direct. Fans hoping to see a new iteration of the Switch may be disappointed, as the company has stated this year they will focus “entirely on software [and] will offer a look at games scheduled to launch in 2019,” meaning unless they have a big surprise or trick up their sleeve, it seems we won’t be hearing about any new hardware whatsoever.
Aside from the hint of no new hardware, we’re also getting a Splatoon 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate tournament. These tournaments typically begin as invitationals at local areas and the finalists end up competing at E3.
Of course as with every E3, comes the wild predictions and theories as to what games we’ll see announced (or maybe even worse, delayed). What games are you hoping to hear more about this year at E3 2019? This year will be interesting with PlayStation out of the picture. Let us know your thoughts in the comments.
