Niantic has released a new Pokemon GO update. While the update is said to have come out on the 22nd, it in fact has been slowly rolling out and should be available now on iOS and Android. The main feature of this update, aside from minor bot fixes, is the “Pokemon Appraisal” system.
“Trainers will now be able to learn about a Pokémon’s attack and defense capabilities from their Team Leader (Candela, Blanche or Spark) to determine which of their Pokémon have the most potential for battle.”
Niantic is also hard at work on a number of other undisclosed features to captivate players for the hit mobile game, as it may need them. Reports are that Pokemon GO interest is plummeting. While some interest may have been lost, all hope is not. With this and other new updates to come, the sky is the limit and Niantic has so much rich source material to pull from.
What the real question is is how long will it take Niantic to adapt to waning interest, as initially they had some serious missteps with removing features, such as the Pokemon tracking feature. This led to some serious backlash on the part of the fandom.
