Nintendo fans will be glad to hear that the Mass Effect: Legendary Edition may yet come to the Nintendo Switch. In a conversation with Eurogamer, Mac Walters, the project director on the Legendary Edition, didn’t rule the possibility out. In fact, he seemed to imply that it is still in play. We’ll let you interpret his words for yourself, but given that Mass Effect 3 came out for the Nintendo Wii U shortly after its initial console release, so it’s not outside of the realm of possibility. Mac Walters even says he would love to see it come to the Nintendo Switch, but they had a path set from the get-go. Once everything is finished, then they can re-evaluate.

Personally, I’d love it. But ultimately, I think we had a path set and it was like, let’s finish that, then let’s see sort of where we’re at.

It would be phenomenal to see the entire Mass Effect trilogy on a Nintendo console. In 2008, when it was still an Xbox exclusive, I bought an Xbox 360 just to play the original. It did not disappoint. Of all the games that have gotten a makeover in the Legendary EditionMass Effect needed the most work, and there’s no doubt that Bioware has managed to clean it up nicely.

Mass Effect: Legendary Edition releases for Xbox One, PlayStation 5, and PC on May 14, 2020, and hopefully a Switch release is not too far behind.
