This year’s E3 has begun to reveal a slew of new announcements. During Ubisoft’s presentation, the company announced Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope. The game is a sequel to the 2017 hit, Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle. This time, however, players are able to venture back into the wacky world which combines tactics, strategy, and family-fun.
Mario and Rabbids 2 is set to include new locations, new bosses, and an expanded roster to choose from. Among this roster, is Rabbid Rosalina and Luma who help to set up the game’s storyline. The sequel follows Mario and company across the galaxy as the evil, Curse, plans to destroy the universe. A synopsis is as follows:
“Cursa’s evil force is running rampant throughout the universe. It wants to consume the mysterious Sparks – uncanny and powerful creatures formed by the fustion of Lumas and Rabbids – and it threatens to destroy all who stand in its way.”

The game’s developer has said that this title is going to switch up the tactical strategy gameplay. Traditionally, a grid system would be implemented for players to traverse throughout levels and counter enemies. Instead, there is a lot more freedom of movement to help this title bring a fresh perspective to the genre.
Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope launches in 2022 exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
