Warner Bros. Interactive and IO Interactive have taken to the internet to announce Hitman 2. This is a direct sequel to the release of 2016’s Hitman. Thankfully, we also got a bit of information along with its reveal.
The first bit of news is that this release will get rid of the episodic style of its predecessor. The episodic nature irritated fans and also hurt sales a bit. Once again, players will be able to take control of Agent 47 while also playing out each level however it is deemed fit. Regarding this, the press release states:
“Featuring entirely new hyper-detailed sandboxes full of living, breathing environments to explore, HITMAN 2 offers players the freedom to plan the ultimate assassination utilizing an assortment of tools, weapons, disguises and a variety of stealth techniques to creatively trigger their own unique chain of events.”
The story is set to uncover the Shadow Client and tasks Agent 47 with taking him down, as well as his militia. Not only this, but the famous hitman will uncover his past which will change everything.
Pre-order bonuses and special edition details were also announced. By pre-ordering, players will be immediately granted access to the “Sniper Assassin Mode.” This can be played in either co-op or solo. In addition to this, there will be a standard, silver, gold, and collector’s edition of the game.
The Standard Edition includes the base game and the Sniper Assassin mode($60).
The Silver Edition includes the above + Executive Pack + Expansion 1 (Digital Only)($80).
The Gold Edition includes the above + Expansion 2 + 4 days Early Access ($100).
The Collector’s Edition will have the Gold Edition + Collector’s Pack + Gun Replica + Collectibles ($150).
The game will release on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on November 13, 2018.
