This past week, every platform received the Doom Eternal DLC except for Nintendo Switch owners. This isn’t necessarily surprising, as the game came out on Switch well after it did on the other consoles. There is also another team working on it to optimize it for the Nintendo’s hit console, if it indeed comes out for Switch, so again, a delay is to be expected. The DLC is entitled The Ancient Gods – Part 2, and the Switch still hasn’t gotten the first part of the expansion yet. id Software, the developers of the game, posted a Tweet telling people to “stay tuned, as there will be more Doom announcements coming later this year. Does this pertain to a possible announcement about the DLC on the Switch? It’s so vague that at this point anything is possible, but, hopefully, that’s the case. Bethesda has done well by the Switch, and there seems to be no reason why the DLC won’t come to the Switch iteration of Doom Eternal at some point.

Bethesda has confirmed that campaign expansions are coming to Doom Eternal on Switch, so there may be a likelihood, among other announcements, that Switch DLC announcements are one of many things that are being referred to. Doom Eternal was delayed on the Switch for six months, coming out in December of last year, as opposed to the initial launch in March of last year on other platforms. Hopefully, the Switch sees the DLC expansions and gets the proper treatment it deserves.
