Last week, we reported that Attack on Titan: The Final Season was ranked the second-greatest anime of all-time. Now, Attack on Titan is tied with Fullmetal Alchemist for the top spot. Considering how a seemingly small, but vocal, group of fans have been bashing The Final Season and MAPPA Studio, this is quite impressive. At this pace, Attack on Titan will surpass Fullmetal Alchemist, and soon. This week saw The Final Season move up by one-hundredth of a point, from 9.20 to 9.21. This was on the heels of one of the best episodes of the entire series, “Assassin’s Bullet”, which saw a beloved character meet their end. Considering how good that episode is, and how it only came out yesterday, Attack on Titan is poised to continue to climb.

How far it will climb is unknown, but, it’s in very good company. Sitting right behind Attack on Titan: The Final Season is Steins;Gate and the third season of Attack on Titan. The interesting thing is that it’s not even close between Attack on Titan: The Final Season and Steins;Gate; .09 points separate them, which is a fairly large margin, taking the rest of the list into account. With Attack on Titan: The Final Season‘s best material still ahead, it’s poised to become the outright greatest anime of all-time.
