The final episode titles for Attack on Titan: The Final Season have been revealed. The corresponding to chapters 109, 111, 113, 114, and 116. The titles are as follows:

  • Episode 12: Guides (Chapter 109)
  • Episode 13: Children of the Forest (Chapter 111)
  • Episode 14: Savagery (Chapter 113)
  • Episode 15: Sole Salvation (Chapter 114)
  • Episode 16: Above and Below (Chapter 116)

It is now confirmed Attack on Titan’s final season will not finish adapting the manga. In fact, it won’t even come close, given that the series will end with chapter 139. That begs the question, what’s going to happen? MAPPA has done an incredible job adapting the series as faithful as possible, but there’s only a 16-episode order, as of right now. On the same day “Above and Below” airs, March 28, there will be an Attack on Titan panel with many of the voice actors from the series present. The trailer also animated at least up to chapter 122, as scenes were present from that chapter, so we at least know they intended to fully animate that part of the series. Whether or not it’s actually a finished product or not is another story. That being said, there are several options the Attack on Titan production committee has, as the series will not animate beyond chapter 117 or chapter 118 as it stands unless it skips a lot of material. They will either be doing another cour, which would possibly air next fall or this summer, or they will do a series of movies to finish the remaining chapters. The latter seems increasingly unlikely, especially in a world with COVID, so it’s possible the day that “Above and Below” airs, a second part of The Final Season will be announced.

Either way, the final episode titles for Attack on TItan: The Final Season are interesting to say the least.
