The UK video game software sales through January 30 have been released. There are a few shakeups, but the list is mostly the same. Hitman 3, which took the top spot, has dropped out of the top 10 after displacing Animal Crossing: New HorizonsSuper Mario 3d All-Stars has jumped back into the top 10 after being number 11 last week, coming in at number nine. Animal Crossing made a comeback to take the top spot back. Five of the top 10 are Nintendo Switch titles, which is beyond impressive. It seems like whether it’s in Japan, the UK, or North America, Nintendo is dominating the charts in every facet, whether it be software or hardware. What’s also interesting is that of the five Switch games that are in the top 10, three of them have been out for a while. These aren’t new games, for the most part. Nintendo’s games have the longevity that other developers don’t have. Animal Crossing: New HorizonsMario Kart 8 DeluxeMinecraft (for Switch), Ring Fit Adventure, and Super Mario 3D All-Stars make the top 10.

  1. Animal Crossing: New Horizons
  2. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
  3. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War
  4. Grand Theft Auto 5
  5. Spider-Man: Miles Morales
  6. Minecraft (Switch)
  7. Ring Fit Adventure
  8. Just Dance 2021
  9. Super Mario 3D All-Stars
  10. Fifa 21

With 2021’s release slate uncertain due to COVID-19, it will be interesting to see what the software sales charts will look like as we progress through the year.
