Today the Nintendo Switch turns 3 years old, and it’s been a wild three years. Launching with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, the system was poised for success. But that isn’t the only high-profile title to come out for the system. In fact, Nintendo has been able to release at least one Triple AAA game almost every month, giving the Switch an abundance of high-quality software, such as Super Smash Bros. UltimateSuper Mario Odyssey, our favorite, Xenoblade Chronicles 2Pokemon Sword and Shield, and more. After the financial disaster that was the Nintendo Wii U, the Nintendo Switch has managed to sell over 52 million units, surpassing the Super Nintendo Entertainment System and becoming Nintendo’s third-best-selling home console system.

This feels like just the beginning though. The Nintendo Switch is coming out with Animal Crossing: New Horizons in just 18 days, and later this year Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition. No doubt, Nintendo has more on the horizon that they have not unveiled before their E3 2020 showing. The Switch is continuing to sell strong, both in terms of hardware and software, and in our opinion, is the greatest gaming console of all-time.

Time will tell whether or not this is true.
