Bethesda has announced that the upcoming port of Elder Scrolls: Blades has been delayed on the Nintendo Switch. In a blog post, the developers unveiled a slew of announcements for the title. Among them, was the reveal that the title is set to launch early next year, 2020. The full statement is as follows:
“We know how eager our players are to dive into Blades on the Nintendo Switch and we’ve been hard at work to make it happen. Unfortunately, amidst all the other changes we’re making to Blades, we’ve had to delay our Switch release until early 2020. We can’t wait until you can begin your quest in Blades on the Switch, and we’re confident this additional time will let us deliver the polished gameplay our fans deserve. We deeply appreciate your patience! As we’ve mentioned in a previous Town Hall, PvP matches will be cross-platform between mobile versions and the Switch version when it releases.”
At this year’s E3 showcase, Bethesda stated that Elder Scrolls: Blades would launch in the Fall of 2019. However, the title has gone through some unforeseen changes which have caused the delay. Originally a mobile release, this title has gone on to see releases on all major platforms. The spin-off has garnered a large number of fans and has seen success for the company. It is currently free to download and receives regular updates.
