Nintendo has announced the release date for their upcoming game, Yoshi’s Crafted World. The next game in the Yoshi franchise is launching exclusively on the Nintendo Switch on March 29, 2019. This date was recently unveiled on the company’s Twitter account.

Yoshi’s Crafted World was initially revealed during Nintendo’s 2017 E3 Direct. Good-Feel is set to develop the upcoming game with Nintendo publishing. Along with this, a story trailer was given on their official YouTube channel. Its story is detailed as follows:

“It all started when Kamek and Baby Bowser set out to steal a gem-set stone. Legend has it that this fabled artifact can grant the bearer their wildest dreams! But when the artifact’s gems are sent flying, it falls upon Yoshi and friends to find them. Luckily, saving the day can be cooperative”

Not much gameplay has been shown, but it will follow much of the same format seen in its predecessor, Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly Worldand with the rest of the series. Many fans of Nintendo were shocked that this was announced outside of the traditional Direct format. Rumors had begun to swirl over a possible Direct live stream during this week, but it seems that this has been put to rest for the time being.
