Square Enix has announced that Dragon Quest XI Echoes of an Elusive Age will be coming to the West later this year. The game will see a release on PlayStation 4 and PC. A Nintendo Switch port will be coming as well, but it will not come out in 2018.  Contrary to Japan, the West will not see a 3DS version of the game. Square Enix spoke to IGN about this stating:

Our aim with Dragon Quest XI and the Dragon Quest brand is to grow the audience in the West. From a business point of view, it made strategic sense to release the 3DS version in Japan in 2017. For the West in 2018, it made the most sense to focus on the PlayStation 4 and PC (Steam) platforms

Dragon Quest XI Western Release Announced

The Western version of Dragon Quest XI will include English dialogue, overhauled menus, hard mode, a quicker dash to make exploration much more speedy, and a first-person mode.

This would mark the first time a mainline Dragon Quest game would be made available on PC for Western audiences. The game is set to release September 4 in North America and Europe. By pre-ordering the game on PS4, buyers will gain access to an exclusive theme as well as in-game DLC.
