Emily Rogers is infamous for her on-the-mark and off-the-mark rumors. She pushed that Mario Maker and Xenoblade Chronicles X would be announced for Switch. She was dead wrong. She did say an RPG was coming out with Mario and Rabbids, so she has a hit-or-miss reputation. Now she is back, posting on Reset Era regarding the next Super Smash Bros. Emily Rogers claims Super Smash Bros. will be announced this year for the Nintendo Switch and released later this year. She has no idea how it will be branded, but aspects of the Wii U and 3DS versions will be re-worked. It could end up being branded as a deluxe edition, but she doesn’t know.

“Unfortunately, I don’t have enough information to speculate whether Smash Bros will be branded/marketed as a “deluxe definitive edition port”, a “halfsequel” or a “full sequel”.

I can only confirm two things:

1.
A Smash Bros title will be announced and released for Switch later this year.

2. They added brand new content and re-worked some of the existing Wii U/3DS content”

Everyone should take this with a grain of salt. While Emily has been right in the past, she has also been massively wrong. There’s no doubt she gets information, but she was flat-out wrong about all the ports she claimed were coming to Switch at launch.

One should be wary of any rumors she puts out there, but an ultimate edition of Super Smash Bros. for Wii U in the Nintendo Switch sounds incredible. Personally, I can’t wait until they finally announce it, because we know they will, regardless of what Emily Rogers says.
