EA is bringing a well-known game to the Switch, Nintendo’s latest console. While speaking at the UBS Global Technology Conference, EA CFO Blake Jorgensen had this to say:

“We haven’t yet announced what game, but you should assume that it’s one of our bigger games. We’re excited for Nintendo.”

Despite the optimism though, Jorgensen (and in turn EA) is still cautious while approaching Nintendo’s newest console.

“It’s an interesting device, but I can’t yet predict how broad it’s going to be.

“Will people be interested in a portable device alongside their regular portable device that they have today?”

EA has not released a Nintendo game in years so it will be interesting to see how much support they put behind the Switch. While Jorgensen is looking at the Switch as an additional portable device, this isn’t an entirely accurate assessment. Sure, the Switch can act as a portable device, but it is still a dedicated home console. Nintendo has stated this many times.

Electronic Arts has a plethora of franchises they can pull from and release on the Switch, from their sports titles, to Mass Effect, and even games like Battlefield. It will be very interesting to see how much support EA lends the Nintendo Switch after not supporting the company for so long.
